“Suikerbossie” (“Sugarbush”) is the national flower of South Africa. It’s also a term of endearment that could be translated as “sweetie”.
And today they were the setting for this beautiful family’s photoshoot.
Being a mama isn’t easy, but it is definitely the best job anyone could ever have.

When I look up at a vibrant purple jacaranda tree in full bloom it always makes me smile. It is such a magnificent sight.
You will find new Jacaranda trees, to remind you of the precious memories growing up in Pretoria, with its streets covered with a purple flower carpet.

Between the hustle and bustle of the busy Johannesburg streets lies a beautiful gem – Shepstone Gardens and that was the backdrop for our family photo shoot. The natural beauty of the venue combined with the love between old world charm and love for each other is evident.
While exploring the narrow pathways up the hill, the kids found lovely hideaways that allowed me to capture spontaneous laughter as they played together. Mom and Dad appreciated the opportunity to express their love for each other in front of the camera.
I am definitely a summer person. Don’t get me wrong: I love winter when it’s beautiful and sunny though, like last week Saturday.
I don’t really care about the cold – But I will allow winter in if I can have sunsets like these every day.
